Tommy Anderson – Drums / Background Vocals
Born and raised in New York, Tommy is a seasoned drummer with over four decades behind the kit and more than thirty years of professional experience in live performance, touring, recording, arranging, and private instruction. Deeply rooted in the diverse musical culture of the New York area, Tommy’s playing reflects a broad command of styles and an unwavering commitment to groove, musicality, and precision.
Tommy started playing drums at a very early age and began his formal percussion journey in high school under Anthony Ambrogio, and then as a member of the world renowned Cadets of Bergen County Drum and Bugle Corps under Tom Aungst. His passion for learning and mastery had since led him to study privately under some of the most respected names in drumming, including Dom Famularo, Jim Chapin, Frank Bellucci, Al Miller, Robby Ameen, Sam Ulano, Tommy Igoe, Bobby Rondinelli, and Randy Knudsen.
Since the mid-1990s, Tommy has played with an extensive roster of bands and artists across multiple genres. Some of the bands and artists he’s played with include Nine Days, Deep C Revival, Maniac, Sorethumb, JD Leonard, Mark MacKay, John Hampson, Jimmy Buffett, Ben Cott, Danny Hamilton, Kenn Mann, George Cintron, Mike Delguidice, Robert Maynard, Tom McGuire Band, and many others. In 2015, he joined Bruce in the USA and has since toured nationally and internationally as their drummer.
In addition to his performing career, Tommy has been a dedicated percussion instructor and arranger. Since 1990, he has worked extensively with several drum lines as well as teaching private lessons. He continues to offer private drum instruction on Long Island, where he shares his wealth of experience with the next generation of drummers.
